Hi,
Welcome to your Sperm Donation info Center at the spermbanker.com!
The reason for this site is two fold:
Provide a local listing of sperm banks
Its quite hard to find a sperm bank in your local area. So I decided to put together a list of all the banks in one place for everyone. This way a potential donor can call up all the banks in their area and find one that works for them.
make a community site for folks to leave feedback on the banks
I thought it would be nice if REAL donors could comment on what they liked about various banks and give current info on pay rates and such. This way the potential donor can hear from the past donors what the true story is at a particular bank.
Hope this makes sense. Add a Sperm Bank / Tell a Story
We’d love to post more information about other cities or the ones we have listed. Email me at phil at philmaher.com
Warm Welcome,
Phil

The first in the nation to store sperm for the public in the 1970, Idant is still is one of the premier facilities in the Northeast offering sperm banking services for men wanting to preserve sperm for their own future use. In addition to banking sperm for personal use, New York City-based Idant also hosts a program for anonymous sperm donors.
Anonymous donors are recruited from the 100+ colleges and universities within driving distance of the facility. To be a donor, testing is a must. You will undergo multiple physical exams, provide several sperm samples and be subjected to a variety of genetic and STD tests. HIV, Hepatitis, Gonorrhea, Tay Schs, Sickle Cell, you’ll be tested for all these and more. Many of the tests will be done during an initial screening and will require tri-monthly re-tests. All specimens are subject to a six-month quarantine period before they can be presented to potential recipients.
In order to maintain anonymity, all donors are assigned a code when they enter the anonymous sperm donor program to use in lieu of their name. The code is used on all medical documentation, tests and records to ensure that your identity remains concealed. At Idant, the identity of the recipient of your sperm will also be concealed. That means there will be no way for you to track whether you have offspring let alone anything about the child or its mother.
Anonymous donors are asked to make a minimum six-month commitment to the semen donor program and are expected to make one to two sperm deposits each week. (You must have three to five days of abstinence in order to provide viable samples.) For your first semen sample provided, you will receive $40 up front and an additional $20 once it has proven to be viable and healthy. You will be paid $60 in full for subsequent deposits.

New York Cryo is the only Long Island area sperm bank licensed by the state of New York. The facility preserves and stores sperm for men with impending infertility due to vasectomy, cancer treatments or the onset of any other illness.
In general, men depositing sperm for personal use at a later time may schedule an appointment for sperm collection at any time. Men fighting cancer, however, should attempt to make deposits before beginning treatment. All men using the New York Cryo sperm banking services are encouraged to provide multiple samples for storage, particularly if the future mother is over 35 or if the man hopes to have multiple offspring. Though studies show preserved sperm are just as capable of fertilizing an egg as fresh sperm, there is no guarantee that a pregnancy will result from the use of he sperm.
In addition to banking sperm for personal use, New York Cryo also collects sperm from directed donors. These are men supplying sperm so that a specific, known female recipient may be impregnated. In all cases, sperm is collected via masturbation. If it is not to be used immediately, the sperm will then be cryopreserved and stored in the sperm bank.
The costs to preserve and store sperm vary. In general though, sperm processing will cost about $300 and storage fees for one year are about $575. In addition, the may also be fees for lab work and semen analyses. In most cases, insurance companies will only pay for sperm cryopreservation when it is a necessary step due to the onset of an infertility-evoking illness, treatment or procedure.

Park Avenue Fertility may be as elite as the street for which it is named. The facility does offer an anonymous sperm donor program but details are reserved for candidates who take the time to fill out an initial application. You can obtain the form by calling and requesting an application. Fill it out completely and return the application to Park Avenue Fertility. A specialist will review your application and if you are deemed an acceptable candidate, they will explain the remainder of the process, step by step, from there.
Most facilities offering anonymous sperm donor programs require extensive information about potential donors. Some of the general information requested may include data on your physical characteristics, family background, hobbies, profession, education and a
family medical history that goes up to three generations back.
All sperm banks require potential sperm donor candidates to undergo a slew of biological sample testing. They screen for genetic disorders such as Tay Sachs, Cystic Fibrosis and Sicle Cell Anemia. In addition, all facilities test donor candidates for the full gamut infectious diseases. And of course, you will need to provide semen samples for analysis. How many depends on the sperm bank. That’s not all. Most sperm banks require a full physical too, including blood and urine sample work-ups.
Sperm banks often have commitment and sperm deposit standards for their donors. Many require donors to commit to six months or a year of donations and that regular sperm deposits be made at least once each week. Payments for sperm bank deposits could be anywhere from $40 per acceptable sample to $200 per sample.
If you’re serious about becoming a sperm donor, contact Park Avenue Fertility to get your initial application and to schedule a consultation so you can learn the specifics of their program.
